About KIDS

KIDS is a national charity which has been supporting disabled children, young people and their families since 1970.

We work with children, from birth through to 25 years. This year we supported over 11,800 disabled children and worked with about 60 Local Authorities across England.

We are passionate, caring and trusted and our vision is a world in which all disabled children and young people realise their aspirations. We offer support and practical help for families, every step of the way.


About The Role

 As a Senior Practitioner  at KIDS you will be working in the community to provide high quality child care and play opportunities to disabled children and their families
 
The overall purpose of the role of Senior Practitioner Early Years is :
  • To plan, coordinate and support the delivery of  Early Support and Learning provision facilities one session per week/per location within a  designated Children’s Centres including the provision of an additional parent support hour
  • To provide a high-quality learning environment for all children attending the crèche facilities in line with EYFS/ECM outcomes and the SEN Code of Practice
  • To work in a supportive and welcoming manner to parents, facilitating the parent support hour and empowering parents to achieve the best possible start in life for children under 5

This is a flexible part time role consisting of:

Grantham on Mondays AM 6 hrs

Sleaford on Thursdays AM 6 hrs

 

About You

To carry out this role we would expect you to have the following characteristics:
  • Extensive experience of disability, early years and special educational needs
  • Coordinating Early Years provisions for children
  • Working with disabled children or those young people with specific requirements
  • Experience of multi-agency working and parent partnership
  • Line managing/ supporting staff & volunteers
  • Significant understanding and experience of working within OFSTED regulations
  • Knowledge of EYFS, EHCP and Early Support
