About KIDS

KIDS are a national charity which has been supporting disabled children, young people and their families since 1970. 

We work with children, irrespective of their disability or impairment, from birth through to 25 years.  Each year we support over 15,000 disabled children, offer over 120 different services and work with about 80 Local Authorities across England.  

We are passionate, caring and trusted and our vision is a world in which all disabled children and young people realise their aspirations. We offer support and practical help for families, every step of the way.

About The Role
To work as part of a team supporting the provision of an exciting and challenging programme of activities in a safe and stimulating environment for children/young people with a range of disabilities/additional needs such as autism, behavioural, learning and emotional difficulties.
 
To work in partnership with parents/carers.
 
To encourage the children to play adventurously, creatively and imaginatively, and to enable them to obtain the full benefit of the facilities provided by the service.
 
This is a sessional position offering flexible working hours during evenings, weekends and school holidays.
 
We are currently in great need of after school, and Sunday workers. Our after school service runs Tuesday to Friday, 3pm - 6.30pm (times may vary slightly). We are looking for workers who would be able to commit on a termly basis to regular after school sessions. Our Sunday service runs every Sunday during term time, 9.30/10am - 5pm.
 
The hourly rate is £10.85 per hour plus you accrue an extra £1.31 per hour holiday pay.


About You
The successful candidate will need to be educated to GCSE level, or have a NVQ level 2 as a minimum.
 
The candidate will need to demonstrate a commitment to working in partnership with parents/carers, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. 
 
The candidate will also need have a fun and open minded attitude to play.
 
The candidate will ideally be available to work at least 1 (maximum 3/4) after school sessions.
