KIDS is a national charity which has been supporting disabled children, young people and their families since 1970.

We work with children, irrespective of their disability or impairment, from birth through to 25 years.  Each year we support over 13,700 disabled children, and work with about 80 Local Authorities across England.

About The Role

The overall purpose of the role of Senior Practitioner Early Years is to:

 

  • Work as a member of the Early Years Team based at KIDS Wylde Green to ensure that quality provision for children 0 - 5 years is delivered.

  • To work alongside the service coordinator and additional nursery senior and take responsibility for the daily running of the nursery whilst adhering to KIDS Policies & Procedures and the requirements and guidelines outlined by Ofsted and through KIDS Standards.

  • To be the named SENCO for the setting

  • To have responsibility for the day-to-day financial processes within the nursery, by managing the occupancy and capacity and taking and recording fee payments

  • Ensuring that all practitioners in the setting understand their responsibilities to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and follows the setting’s approach to identifying and supporting children with SEND

This role is a fixed term maternity cover for approx 9 months beginning in February 2021.

About You
To be able to carry out this role it is essential that you have the following characteristics:
  • Three years’ experience of supervising a nursery setting including administrative tasks

  • Experience of working with disabled children

  • Experience of planning number of children in line with staff ratios

  • Experience of working in partnership in a multi-disciplinary way with professionals and other agencies

  • Experience of managing staff and monitoring outcomes through supervisions, appraisals and team meetings

  • Passionate about providing outstanding childcare and education with the ability to lead and inspire others to share this
