KIDS are a national charity which has been supporting disabled children, young people and their families since 1970. 

We work with children, irrespective of their disability or impairment, from birth through to 25 years.  Each year we support over 15,000 disabled children, offer over 120 different services and work with about 80 Local Authorities across England.  

We are passionate, caring and trusted and our vision is a world in which all disabled children and young people realise their aspirations. We offer support and practical help for families, every step of the way.

About The Role
Do you want to work for an inspiring charity making a real difference to the lives of disabled children and young people?

The role of Summer Play Worker at KIDS involves helping children and young people with a range of disabilities/additional needs such as autism, behavioural, learning and emotional difficulties. In this role you will be working in one of our adventure playgrounds to:

  • Support the provision of an exciting and challenging programme of activities in a safe and stimulating environment for children / young people.
  • Encourage the children and young people to play adventurously, creatively and imaginatively, and to enable them to obtain the full benefit of the facilities provided by the service.

The holiday play scheme at Kids Adventure Play –Hackney  ground will be running from 22 July - 28 August 2020

Please note that there is a 2 Part Induction and training  process (paid) that takes place over 2 days. You must be available for :-

Part 1 (one of the following days): 28th June, 12th, 17th, 18thJuly

Part 2 (one of the following days): 19th, 20th, 21st July.

The hourly rate for this role is £10.75 per hour (LLW) plus you accrue an extra £1.20 per hour holiday pay.

About You
The successful candidate will need to be educated to GCSE level, or have a NVQ level 2 as a minimum.
The candidate will need to demonstrate a commitment to working in partnership with parents/carers, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. 
The candidate will also need have a fun and open minded attitude to play.
