About KIDS

KIDS is a national charity which has been supporting disabled children, young people and their families since 1970.

We work with children, irrespective of their disability or impairment, from birth through to 25 years. Each year we support over 15,000 disabled children, offer over 120 different services and work with about 80 Local Authorities across England.

We are passionate, caring and trusted and our vision is a world in which all disabled children and young people realise their aspirations. We offer support and practical help for families, every step of the way.

About The Role
Key responsibilities of this role of playworker is to participate in activities including:
  • Working directly with disabled children and young people to support them during play-based group sessions.
  • Ensuring disabled children and young people’s views are respected and they are engaged, have a say and are actively involved in making decisions.
  • Ensuring the children and young people we work with have fun in a play-based setting that supports their development and encourages them to try new and stimulating activities.
  • Working with the Senior Practitioner and Coordinator in promoting good practice and dealing with any issues arising as required

The hourly rate is £8.20  per hour plus you accrue an extra 99p per hour holiday pay.
