KIDS are a national charity which has been supporting disabled children, young people and their families since 1970. 

We work with children, irrespective of their disability or impairment, from birth through to 25 years.  Each year we support over 15,000 disabled children, offer over 120 different services and work with about 80 Local Authorities across England.  

We are passionate, caring and trusted and our vision is a world in which all disabled children and young people realise their aspirations. We offer support and practical help for families, every step of the way.

About The Role

Do you want to work for an inspiring charity making a real difference to the lives of disabled children and young people?

The role of Summer Play Worker at KIDS involves helping children and young people with a range of disabilities/additional needs such as autism, behavioural, learning and emotional difficulties. In this role you will be working in one of our adventure playgrounds to:

  • Support the provision of an exciting and challenging programme of activities in a safe and stimulating environment for children / young people.
  • Encourage the children and young people to play adventurously, creatively and imaginatively, and to enable them to obtain the full benefit of the facilities provided by the service.

The holiday play scheme at Hayward Adventure Play ground will be running from 22 July-28 August 2020 -

Please note that you must be available for induction on 20/21 July 2020.

The hourly rate for this role is £9.78 per hour plus you accrue an extra £1.18per hour holiday pay.

This is a sessional position offering flexible working hours during evenings, weekends and school holidays.


About You

The successful candidate will need to be educated to GCSE level, or have a NVQ level 2 as a minimum.

Candidates will need to demonstrate a commitment to working in partnership with parents/carers, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team and will need to have a fun and open minded attitude to play.  In addition the candidate will need to a have the ability to be pro-active and use their own initiative as well as the ability to work under pressure
