About KIDS

KIDS is a national charity which has been supporting disabled children, young people and their families since 1970.

We work with children, irrespective of their disability or impairment, from birth through to 25 years. Each year we support over 15,000 disabled children, offer over 120 different services and work with about 80 Local Authorities across England.

We are passionate, caring and trusted and our vision is a world in which all disabled children and young people realise their aspirations. We offer support and practical help for families, every step of the way.


About The Role
Are you passionate about empowering disabled children and young people to reach their potential? Are you a strong administrator, with outstanding planning, diary management, research and writing skills? Do you want to develop your research, policy and public affairs skills to help the charity reach more families? This is a fantastic opportunity to join KIDS and support our CEO, executive leadership team and Board.  The Executive Assistant will provide confidential administrative and research support to the Chief Executive, including diary management and travel, organise Board meetings, prepare papers and produce minutes. You will research and write briefings to support the charity’s national policy influencing and produce media updates.

*The hours for this role are between 25-36 hours per week and flexible working opportunities are available.**

About You

You have at least two years’ experience of relevant administrative responsibilities, in similarly busy and varied roles, ideally including support for senior teams. Your strong interpersonal skills mean you can build excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including staff, board members, policy makers, partners and funders. You have strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Word, EXCEL and PowerPoint, are digitally confident and familiar with social media. Your excellent research and writing skills enable you to draft a wide range of outputs, including emails, agendas, meeting notes, briefings and reports, appropriately tailored to each audience. You have a very high level of accuracy and attention to detail and are able to maintain discretion at all times. You have a flair for policy and public affairs and are keen to develop these skills and bring KIDS’ frontline work to wider audiences.
