About KIDS

KIDS is a national charity which has been supporting disabled children, young people and their families since 1970. 

We work with children, irrespective of their disability or impairment, from birth through to 25 years.  Each year we support over 15,000 disabled children, offer over 120 different services and work with about 80 Local Authorities across England.  

We are passionate, caring and trusted and our vision is a world in which all disabled children and young people realise their aspirations. We offer support and practical help for families, every step of the way.

About The Role

We currently need drivers for our:

-          Term time Tuesday to Friday After School Clubs drop offs

-          Wednesday evening Youth Club drop offs

-          Term time Saturday morning and afternoon pick-ups and drop offs

-          Possibility of Sunday pick-ups and drop offs

-          Play scheme holiday pick-up and drop offs
 
You will work as part of a team supporting the provision of an exciting and challenging programme of activities in a safe and stimulating environment for children/young people with a range of disabilities/additional needs such as autism, behavioural, learning and emotional difficulties.
 
Hours for this post will vary but we require a minimum commitment from our drivers for at least 2 after school club sessions a week and every other Saturday during term time.
The hourly rate is £8.86- £10.69 per hour plus you accrue an extra £1.07-£1.18 per hour holiday pay.
About You

To be able to carry outthis role it is essential that you have the following characteristics:

  • Willingness to carry out the bus run and transport young people and play workers to various activities as instructed by the Play worker in Charge and/or Play and Leisure Coordinator.
  • Ability to listen, reflect and communicate appropriately and effectively with service users and colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • D1 entitlement on driving licence.
  • Educated to GCSE level or NVQ level 2 as a minimum.
