KIDS are a national charity which has been supporting disabled children, young people and their families since 1970.

We work with children, irrespective of their disability or impairment, from birth through to 25 years.  Each year we support over 15000 disabled children, offer over 120 different services and work with about 80 Local Authorities across England.

About The Role

We are looking for a Support Worker to support a specific child, based in Coalpit Heath, South Gloucestershire.  

The young person is a 12 year old girl with complex needs who requires:

  • Support in the family home every Monday & Thursday 4.30pm-7pm. These sessions will involve playing at home, providing the child with a shower and helping her get ready for bed.

Due to the flexible nature of the role, additional work may be available on Ad Hoc basis.

The hourly rate is £8.40 per hour plus you accrue an extra £1.01p per hour holiday pay.

The role is subject to references and an enhanced DBS check.

About You

If you have some experience of supporting disabled people, would be committed to the role and to providing safe and enjoyable sessions, Can demonstrate an understanding of the needs of disabled children and young people and a commitment to safeguarding.  we would love to hear from you.

  • A car driver is essential for this role.
  • Training on Epilepsy Awareness is desirable, however, training is available.
  • Experience of working with disabled children is desirable but not essential.
